Embracing innovation at Farnborough International Airshow 2024
Personal reflections from the CEO of Fokker Next Gen about the Farnborough International Airshow 2024
The Farnborough International Airshow has always been a cornerstone event for the aerospace industry, showcasing groundbreaking technology and fostering invaluable connections. I am excited to share my reflections on this year's show, which, despite certain challenges, underscored the resilience and innovative spirit of our industry.
Commitment to hydrogen combustion technology
Fokker Next Gen stands out as the sole aircraft OEM fully committed to bringing a hydrogen combustion-powered 120-seat short to medium-range jet airliner to market by 2035. This ambitious project is not just about leading the charge towards sustainable aviation, it’s about pioneering a future where air travel is both efficient and environmentally friendly.
Reflections on Our Japan Trip
Personal reflections from the CEO of Fokker Next Gen on the recent trip to Japan.
After our trip to Singapore, we continued our journey to Japan. Looking back, I am filled with enthusiasm and a reinforced sense of purpose for the future of Fokker Next Gen (FNG). Japan's extensive history of technological innovation, coupled with its strong ambitions to advance hydrogen combustion-powered aircraft, has offered us deep insights and significant opportunities.
Meet the Fokker Next Gen Aircraft
Fokker Next Gen is designing a single aisle narrow body commercial aircraft that seats 120 to 150 passengers, with a flight range of 2,590km (1,400nm). While primarily designed to fly on liquid hydrogen combustion, it will also be able to fly on sustainable aviation fuel (and if no green alternatives are available, traditional jet fuel). Entry into service is 2035.
